There are two large curved segments on each side, with chunky segments of beads in between and smaller beads going towards the back of the neck. The jasper used in this necklace is substantial and well cut. It has a lobster clasp, so is easy to open and close.

This necklace hails from the 1970's, so is over 40 years old. It looks completely brand new. There are absolutely no faults with it. It just looks like a perfectly brand new gemstone necklace.
This necklace has been handmade, which means no two pieces will ever be alike. The beads have been strung on metal wire and finished with a lobster clasp. The large side segments are 7.8cm (3.1") long and 3.8cm (1.5") at the widest point, 1.9cm(0.75") at the narrowest point. The larger beads at the front are 8cm (3.1") in diameter.
Jasper - a semi-precious stone
Jasper is an aggregate of micro-granular quartz and/or chalcedony and other mineral phases and is an opaque variety of silica.
You can tell it's a real gemstone, as it feels cool to the touch. Plastic doesn't feel cool to touch.
