Beautifully unique and distinctive handmade cuff bracelet which has a centrepiece made of mother of pearl, paua shell, gold foil and red paint. The rest of the cuff bracelet is coloured in orange, yellow and red foils and paints, with two lines of mother-of-pearl across the full depth at each end. The inner part of the cuff bracelet is painted black to contrast with the vibrant colours of the outside.

Paper maché

The cuff bracelet is a paper maché bracelet, which means it was made with paper, then set to allow it to harden. This hardening makes the paper as hard as wood (which is where the paper came from). The bracelet is then painted and the shells are glued to the paper mache. It is allowed to dry again and then varnished which allows it to further harden.
